Moissanite Sapphire & Zircon

Main Differences?

Moissanite has the most sparkle (even more than diamonds) and is super durable.

Lab sapphire is a real sapphire, strong and elegant but with less fire than moissanite.

Zircon is natural and very sparkly but softer and needs more care.

If you’re looking for a diamond alternative, moissanite is a great option! If you want a colorful, durable gemstone, go for lab sapphires. And if you love affordable sparkle, zircon might be for you!

Sapphire

1. Lab Sapphire (Synthetic Sapphire)

Material: A real sapphire, made from aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃).
Hardness: 9 on the Mohs scale (very durable, great for daily wear).
Brilliance: Has a deep, rich color and a slightly lower sparkle than diamonds.
Colors: Mostly blue, but also available in pink, yellow, white, and more.
Uses: Found in fine jewelry and engagement rings.

Zircon

2. Zircon (Natural Gemstone)

Material: A naturally occurring mineral (zirconium silicate, ZrSiO₄).
Hardness: 6-7.5 on the Mohs scale (softer, more prone to scratches).
Brilliance: Extremely sparkly, with a fire similar to diamonds.
Colors: Comes in many colors, including clear, blue, yellow, and brown.
Uses: Often used as a diamond alternative in jewelry.
